I've checked out the Web Site and its true there is a Ferry from Immingmam to Gothenburg. 24hours but looks very good value with Cabins and all meals included.
I will be seriously looking into this for the next attempt at conquering the Continent.

Thanks. Years ago when I lived in Great Yarmouth Norfolk Ferries used to sail to the continent. Locals would somehow get on those ferries to avoid the drive to Dover. I always wondered how they did it. Now I suppose they were just "in the know" and asked nicely at the port entrance!
Yours Ian G

Immingham to Gothenburg is £253.00 one way!!! It is also the responsibility of the rider to lash the bike/scoot down.

Wait till you price the Santander /Bilbao crossing and as I remember you lash your own bike down on that as well

The responsibility for lashing down bikes on cross-channel ferries has been the riders' for ages.
It's no big deal and means that we have the opportunity to place the straps where we want them and also to put an old towel or cloth on the seat before the strap goes on.
It means also that there's no come-back on the company if the straps are dirty since it is the responsibility of the riders to hang them up after use and not trail them through any dirty water on the deck.
I did contact P&O at one point, suggesting that the straps were past their 'sell-by' date. On my next trip, not long after, all the straps had been replaced with brand new ones. It was a different ferry so I can only assume the whole fleet had been re-equipped.

For the price they charge I want it washed and polished.
One of my pet gripes is the price I pay on a ferry for a PTW yet for the same I can take a car and 7 people

So be told Frank! And with your money price isn't an issue either. It is more out lay in one lump but you get more time in Northern parts, avoiding the ride across and up.

The way it came across on the DFDS site intimated there was no lashing points as we experience on P&O. It also was not clear whether they provided straps as these ferries are essentially for freight and passengers are a side issue.
