Re: Forza Problem
Turning the ignition on and off without starting the engine should not flood the engine or cause any problems. No fuel can be injected into the engine during that process, as long as the engine is not turned over. Once primed, the pump will come to a stop at full pressure and remain that way for some time until the engine is started. So that won't have been the problem. More likely is the unsettling effect this can have had on the ecu and sensors if the turning on and off was done in quick succession without allowing the ecu to boot up properly each time. This causes the ecu to load a default run program so starting the engine can be difficult and it may seem as if it is flooded, but it isn't. I suspect the sidestand sensor is the culprit.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

Re: Forza Problem
same thoughts as horobags, might as well get sorted now rather than await the time in fails perm. when you need ithorobags wrote:fuel pump failure is a common fault with the forza, first being noticed back in July . Id call your honda dealer Roger get them to pick it up and replace the fuel pump.

Re: Forza Problem
My SH300 does this if left. Seems to spin over faster than normal, almost as if its lost compression, then eventually it'll fire intermittently then finally start and then its like nothing was ever wrong? Now if I've left it for a week or more and it doesnt fire straight up, I turn the ignition on and off a few times and let it prime itself and this seem to get round the problem?

Re: Forza Problem
When doing an oil change, I like to do a few short presses of the starter, just to prime the oil cartridge before starting, this is probably when I cause the ECU not to 'boot up' properly, thanks for the explanation Data, you live and learn.
Probably good advice to turn ignition on, watch all the dials whiz rounds, count to 5 and start. Also allow the engine to idle for 10 seconds before switching off.

Re: Forza Problem
Clean bill of health given today. Nothing found upon inspection, so hopefully it's back to normal duties.
