Absolutely,
That is what I was trying to say with "weather protection is different to turbulence" "depends on priorities" "what they are trying to achieve"

Then there is stability, fuel economy, killing lift etc but most riders don't concern themselves with those.

Whether they're any good or not I've no idea, I bought one in Germany a couple of years ago and couldn't be bothered to fit it. Old Brubaker bought it off me with the intention of fitting to his Silver Wing but I still haven't seen it. :)
I couldn't be bothered fitting it either, it sat around on a bookshelf for ages before I sold it for the same price to Higgins who spotted it when he was over at my house.

There are so many variables to take into account thats why screen makers normally do them in different sizes . There are for and against when it comes to screens wether fitted to a naked bike or a double bubble on a faired machine of a big air brake fitted to custom bikes ( guilty ) that look crap imho and sometimes effect handling and comfort for the worse .The larger screen on my srv is better for weather protection but creates more noise and buffeting around my helmet at speed ,then there is the other sail that givi makes which is great at all things but looks dreadful . Aerodynamics on two wheels is a very difficult compromise .

thats why ferret i think the givi screen made for the j300 would be the best buy... i test rode the j300 with standard screen with thin gloves in may and i noticed that my hands were in the wind, also the helmet area was exposed to wind, anyways thats why i had the large screen fitted from new, i can ride up to any legal speed limit and my visor is only 1 click down, i can see over the screen and visibility thr it is great, even in torrential rain i did not have my visor down, i prefer not to have my visor closed normally so its great, my hands are protected from the wind, and i get minimal buffeting on the top of helmet at speed.. dont be put off with the fitting of it, as when you take off the standard screen (two allen bolts each side) that will expose the small front panel which needs to come off to fit the new front (near headlight) bracket. The screen is held on very well and no vibes etc from screen :D

My brother was adjusting the Givi Airflow on his old Tmax 500 on the freeway and the top screen blew off at 70 mph in his hand...and he didn't drop it! Almost dislocated his shoulder and put the bike down, though.... :?

After that we TIGHTENED-UP the clearances on the sliding lock mechanisms to avoid that scenario...and don't adjust going over 50 mph! 8-)

Here is another option: install the top adjustable windscreen from the GIVI Airflow on your OEM screen! ALL the Airflows use the SAME adjustable screen, which is available separately, with all the necessary bits to install. Here is an example of an OEM screen with the Airflow screen added. Owner said it worked great. You could even cut the original screen shorter first, without compromising the efficiency.

Thanks Skutorr,

I had a Givi Airflow on a previous scooter.

I found that even in is lowest position, I could not see over it which was hopeless at night in the wet !

After I cut down the sliding section to allow me to see over it rather than through it, I really liked it.

Debating whether to get a PUIG clamp on extension or the tall Kawasaki J300 screen.

I have decided to buy a PUIG full size screen instead ... thanks to all for their suggestions.
