Smeghead has already been advised by those of us that have Silverwing 600's, maybe, he'll be lucky, and won't get a flat battery, his choice.

X9's were just as bad.
I've taken out the bulb on my Silverwing and put it, wrapped up, in the LH cubby.

Well I ordered the bulb(s) in the original post and a day or two later they turned up. A little shorter than the original but I switched out the boot lamp in the X10 boot, rotating it so the LEDs shone inwards to the boot (quite important this bit) and what a revelation.
The LED focuses the beam and lights up the base of the seat so it seems to spread light around much better. So instead of a warm yellow glow I now have a bright white light - so it's a win-win for the bulb.
Also i noted ebay is full of cheap tilt switches so if you did want to do a seat mounted lamp it would be pretty easy if you could figure out where to place the LED.
