i had the opposite from my dealer, rack+topbox+screen all fitted free with 10% off the givi price, full tank of fuel and all the kwaka extras, a full walk round of the scoot before i payed the balance and a run thru of PDI, coffee and sit down to finish paperwork.. went back the 28 miles for servicing .. when i decide to change scoot .. if ever kawasaki clones a 600cc scoot i will be back to the same dealer..

Well i collected my new Silverwing today, forty miles to pick it up and forty miles back with the new one, all on the M62. I got it from Padgetts in Bately, they were okay but, I would have liked some kind of extra.

What, like a hand job or something?

As spaceprobe said I did have a couple of problems with my silverwing on delivery, although it is fair to say this was a one off. On the first ride home I noticed that the front suspension hit the stops over bumps in the road where my previous machine had been fine. At first i thought this was due to over inflation of the front tyre but the problem persisted, the suspension was checked over by the dealer on the first service and they reported that no defects were found, I have not had any problem with the suspension since. Two days into ownership on parking the bike I noticed that in bright sunlight there were surface scratches in the metallic paintwork (I have the delta blue) as if someone had rub it over with a gritty cloth they appear to be in the lacquer and not to have penetrated to the paint coat. On the first service the dealer put it through their body shop for a full polish and it is better but in certain lights you can still see scratches, hoping these will polish out over time.

Ollie, I've found that if the scratches on the surface are very minor you can apply two coats of 'Autoglym Super Resin Polish' (the new one that came out last year). It has a mild cleaner in it and removes minor scratches if you rub firmly and rub all the same way not in circles. Then apply one coat of 'Autoglym Super High Gloss' polish over the top. Even if all the scratches don't come completely out the resin and high gloss polish (which protects the super resin) will completely mask them. You get that wet look gloss all over your bike if you follow the above instructions. Wonderful. It's a common thing to do these days apparently. I did my car and bike. Wow! You only have to do it once a year and she's scratch free with a super gloss look. It really is good stuff.

P & D Motorcycles in Wakefield have a white 600 in stock. Had a quick look around earlier today. - It's one hell of a beast. Doesn't half put the 300i in it's place.

dont think my missus will let me spend more on a new scoot at the moment, but give it a year
or do i just get dr pulley hit clutch and DP 15 gm rollers and sliders to finish my project, for me going larger scoot does not seem a need at the moment , definitely a desire, a test on the 400i kymco xciting against a 300 downtown with hit clutch showed that the 300 cc had more power to back wheel and was faster at varied speeds , standing start, and rolling full throttle at 30 /50 /70 mph and pulled away from the 400 xciting which has 36hp i think against the 28 of the 300cc so getting the used variator power to the back wheel is very important, so this is what i think will be my goal first thing september after the holidays
