Usually during 'riding season' most bikes will be heading towards West bay, then head away from it later in the afternoon.

That is a puzzling thing....so many of them are utterly useless riders. I mean I'm crap at cornering, but I'm way better than certain people on ZX6Rs and GSX-Rs that I've come across. I guess its the 'all the gear, no idea' syndrome.VOZZA wrote: About 1/2 a mile on we saw him tumble into the heather off a nice sweeping right hander.

Re: Power Rangers
You mean France. The EU has just told the French that they must remove that restriction as it is illegal. I have a 1043cc Kawasaki and before that, I had a 675cc Triumph. The Kawasaki is a sports tourer with 142bhp. I like it. I don't speed either and it does the same mpg as a TMAX.kayz1 wrote:They should all ( big bikes ) be no more than 100BHP like in Europe that would stop the Tw***
I also like riding my pushbike and my Sportcity Cube 300.

Many spurtbike riders are Darwin awards waiting to happen.
I remember my days of riding like a total cnut, its a miracle I survived.
My opinion is that the success of the Superbike racing format has created a whole raft of bikes which are completely and totally hopeless for road use.
Re the 600-v-1000 thing, give me a 1000 v-twin TL, SV, SP1/2, VTR etc over a 600 four every time.

Re: Power Rangers
Sad but true, the youtube 'Twist of the wrist II" is made for people like that - an excellent watch BTW. I often get a bike overtaking me and have to then slow down at the next roundabout so they can creep round. And I'm fairly slow in corners and usually on 263cc so there really is no excuse!!MrGrumpy wrote:That is a puzzling thing....so many of them are utterly useless riders. Still we need bike riders of all tastes to keep the shops in business so don't knock it, it's sad though how the manufacturers always push expensive stuff that appeals to fewer and fewer people. Once good thing to come out of the new bike test laws are sensible sized bikes - 250cc, 300cc etc. Shame most of them still have the idea of zero storage with wet feet, jackets and trousers but you can't have everything...

I was out quite a lot over the weekend. The traffic around here was pretty horrible (especially Monday due to a real nasty accident on the A46). What struck me was the number of riders who were prepared to just sit in lines of traffic and not filter. What a waste.

The joys of circumventing sunny weather/weekend warriors/spurt bike/'adventure' bikers who are sat on the white line waiting for the postman to deliver a written invitation to pass...
I've noticed a stereotype sunny-weather bike queuer too. 'Jocks' on Muscle bikes. 'Bulldog-licking-piss-off-a-stinging-nettle' Chopper riders and Charlie/Ewan wannabes perched precariously on Mahoosive BMW's. All lovely human beings of course!

Re: Power Rangers
I've recently chopped my big scooter for a sports tourer. Chose it for the riding position, wind protection, shaft drive (no stinkin' chain), top box and side cases and .....power! I certainly get a feeling if safety when I want to overtake at foreign motorway speeds instead of just giving it some and hoping for the best like I did with my Burger. A friend with an R1 (had it six years from new) surprised us all the other week when he chopped that for a Triumph speed triple tourer. He was a competent rider too - not a nutter on the road, he said he got all his thrills on the numerous track days he went on. He loves his new bike and it made us laugh when he said that it is so much more comfortable going out on this bike now because it's not 'painful' to ride like the R1! He was not looking forward to another European trip on his R1.
