Its a long time since my mk2 was sent to the great scrap yard in the sky, but my recollection is that the mk4 is probably the most comfortable of all the models - certainly more than the mk3, whilst the mk2 was generally OK but was upset by some road surfaces (but swallowed big bumps like they didn't exist). Mk2 probably had a little more room for your feet - again mk4 better than mk3. I've never noticed any difference in the underseat storage space for any of them. Mk4 mirrors are OK, but stick out too much, though they do fold (forward & back). I thought the mk3 had the best mirrors.
The seat on my mk4 is rock hard! No wonder the old chap who had it before me died :( Ive travelled over 500 miles in one day on the mk2 with no trouble but it was a real pain going to Gloucester the other week.
Regarding storage,, all I know is my Shoei will go in the mk2 but won't go in the mk4. No matter how I position it! Maybe it's the same volume but a different shape. I agree about the mirrors, as me n chippie swopped rides for a few miles a few weeks ago. I could see behind me for a change :D

Now I've never noticed that. Maybe I have an insenstive arse or something!

I ride a modified 2009 Mk3 Tmax 500, and my brother has a 2012 Tmax 530. If I had NO Tmax, or an early one and was looking to upgrade, I'd get the 530...it's that much better, across the board!!!
2009 Tmax with OODLES of upgrades!
2009 Majesty 400 (sold)
2007 Aprilia Mojito 150 (sold)
