Seriously spaceprobe. I'm getting excited for you! It's the one scooter that could pry me away from my precious Burgman 400. But then...will it! I love it (the Burgman) a lot and it's simplicity. Yet the 600i is just as simple with no doubt good spares backup. But the 600i is shiny...or is it if I get the matt black one! I'm attracted to shiny things like a Magpie. I like the proper twin yoke forks on the Maxsym, unlike the Burgman which has single yoke and will be more prone to flexing (but haven't felt any yet inspite of riding hard). Thanks again for the offer of coming down to have lunch and view the Sym dealership. I'd like to do that in due course. Not ready yet. Oooh er...just so much choice eh! :o

Well hopefully my Joymax is on the same boat, but not heard anything yet. Contacted SYM UK but not heard as yet. My big worry is that I have been waiting two months for replacement panels for my GTS, after my Christmas pedestrian issue! My dealer has been chasing motoGB and they keep promising dates they never meet. So concerned about there parts supply. But still want the Joymax! So not sure what to do?

I always mark my emails for the attention of Steve and he answers by return. He says he has been very busy but hopes to be on the forum at the weekend.

Yeah I've marked my emails for his attention. But still no reply. Also contacted motoGB direct. I've to phone my dealer Thursday to see if my panels are in. If not seriously thinking about cancelling my Joymax, which would be very disappointing. But now lost faith in motoGB.

smeghead wrote:Nice one Mr Probe, I can't wait for your totally unbiased review lol. Seriously this could be a great upgrade against my Majesty as the Tmax and Burgervan 650 are just too pricy.
I've tried to make that same argument for the Xciting400i as a replacement for our OBSOLETE, older version Majesty400 that the people on the Majesty Forum over here are still rabid for. We have NO big SYM's, or Piaggio X-10s, but KYMCO told me that the Xciting400i WILL be here next summer. It's either replace the aged Majesty, with it's well-documented shortcomings, with a completely NEW engine 400 that has a real front suspension and forks, or keep gluing them back together... Even the (ancient) Burger400 doesn't have a triple clamp front end...
2009 Tmax with OODLES of upgrades!
2009 Majesty 400 (sold)
2007 Aprilia Mojito 150 (sold)

Mac , i feel for you when it comes to dealing with moto gb and just hope its a simple error and not the case of talking the talking but failing to walk the walk especially after sym uk said he was really on the case .

A familiar story I am afraid, and one that happened to me so I know it's not just rumour. I have decided not to buy another SYM while MotoGB are their distributors.
So I stopped chasing the Joymax 300 and ordered the superior Piaggio X10-350 executive instead.

If you have a nearby Bennetts then you may be fine, if not, frankly 'Good Luck'.

BTW the 2014 Xciting 400 frankly looks better than the Joymax 300:

and you can actually get parts for Kymco, very well respected for backup and service.

UPDATE:- We'll I received an email from Steve this evening, where he went in to great depth to explain their parts department and the fact that they would require to hold thousands of parts to service all the requirements. So most of it is on order when required, or sourced from other European importers who sell a far greater amount of machines than the UK. I can't thank Steve enough about the fact that he it very helpful and commited to the SYM brand. But parts availability is amajor concern when buying any item. You don't want to be off the road for months waiting on replacement parts after spending thousands on a new machine. My other concern is that I have traded my current machine in, and don't want to explain to dealer I can't as I haven't yet recieved my replacement panels, as the deal was done on what he had seen prior to my coming together with a wayward pedestrian!! So hoping to have then replaced without having to explain the situation. Hopefully I will get a deffinate answer on Thursday.
