I just test-rode a high-miler (kilomtres) 2009 Burgman 400 - it was a bit 'tired' and had a strange transmission vibration - but that aside, despite its extra weight, I found it easier to manouvre at slow speeds than the Forza - just seating position really.

I had to test an old 'un as they didn't have any new models road registered. This was a tired old 'trade-in' they had out back. But anyway, I'm guessing the new ones will ride similarly?

It's given me further food for thought - I'm visiting a Kwakker dealer on Thursday to take a look at a J300. :)

As an aside, while I was there, a guy rocked up on a X10 - I'd never seen one in the 'flesh' (tupperware) before - seriously beautiful scooter in my opinion. :)

I'm 5'7"and can place both feet on the ground quite easily and because you're sitting low it makes it very easy to manoeuvre. Plus its very good on fuel.

I did, thanks. :)

As far as we can tell, the 'new' baby Burgers are very similar to the old ones mechanically, though the new ones are to be made in Thailand (or somewhere nearby) whilst the old ones were made in Spain (in fact they were Europe only models). I don't recall any transmission vibes on mine!

Now a J300 - that sounds like a fun idea!!!

Yeah, see my post above ^ - I saw one today, first time in the 'flesh' - absolutely beautiful scooter in my opinion. I wish I'd asked the bloke for a 'sit' on it. :D

I've heard Piaggio's 'aftersales service' leaves a bit to be desired though? :?:

Can you shed any light on this?

:)

If you are going to buy a used one you need to read the posts about the master cylinder problems.

Ah! OK, thanks, I'll do a search.

I read the 'translation confusion' over pump/fluid change intervals - but I didn't realise that there were actually problems with the master cylinder(s.) :?: :?:

All depends on what you want your maxi-scooter for and how tall you are. The Burgman looks and sounds ok and so does the Forza. Price might come into the choice , i don't know but the Burgman would be something to have a look at as it has a big following. Happy scooter riding. 8-)
