I was interested in the Maxisym600 that was mentioned in another post. I made some enquiries at a dealer and he tells me that it will be available in the uk, possibly in late spring next year. I would be up for a test ride, and comparison with my Silverwing600. If it ticks the boxes i would buy one. :) I looked at the Integra but as soon as i saw that chain drive i lost interest.

I thought that too about the integra when I first saw it and had a demo ride, but it is growing on me. Mind you the sym 600 would be more practical. I guess im just a "honda man". :)
Im not a gynecologist, but I dont mind taking a look.

I have not had to adjust my chain in 6000 miles, just look after it 5 mins after each long ride or once a week. :D

When i rode chain driven bikes, i have memories of cleaning with white spirit or parafin, wiping it dry then frying it up in Linklife over a calor gas ring, then hanging it up to dry for a couple of hours to dry out , and then refitting, with grease al over my hands. Never again. :)

Agreed with the comment of that engine and gearbox was on a swingarm comment. I myself would of thought Honda should of stayed with the silverwing which i think is a very good looking maxiscooter. To me i think the NC750 Honda is more of a motorbike looking than a scooter but everyone is allowed own views. 8-)

By that definition, the Tmax, Silverwing, BMWs, Big Burger, SRV aren't scooters as they all have rigidly mounted engines, bike style!! We've been round the whole 'what makes a bike a bike and a scooter a scooter' loop several times. But for any defintion you come up with, there's always an exception. I think of the Tmax and the Burger as bikes disguised as scooters...The Integra is really closer to the border than anything else. It looks like a scooter, so I guess it must be one! Snag is, it seems to combine some of the worst features of both, rather than the best!

btw doing some digging around, I note that for the Italian market only, the Integra comes with a topbox, which doesn't demonstrate a high regard for the claimed enlarged luggage space. I've seen a photo of the new underseat space - it looks vaguely helmet shaped, but its hard to gauge how deep it is - I suspect its not that deep at all.

The MCIA provide an official UK definition with their monthly news sales bulletins:

Scooters
Have an engine, as an integral part of the rear suspension or the chassis is a step-through type, irrespective of cc or wheel size. Includes all types of
transmission.
http://www.mcia.co.uk/Uploads/Statistic ... 201310.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If the definition is adhered to rigidly, this could be why the stats for scooters (over 50cc) seems to be dropping - many of what we would think of as scooters, just aren't!
