They've been on sale here in NZ for several years now and every year I talk myself into having a test ride. Must have clocked up quite a few hours on three different models. And I still can't come to terms with them. I can't agree with rtfm's statement "are safer than the mp3 " which when ridden felt MUCH more controllable. They are chock full of stability controlling electronics which must tell you something. On smooth motorway fine. On rough chip or uneven cambered roads, even with the lightest grip on the bars the buggers tend to dart about alarmingly. Look through some of the CAN-AM SPYDER sites and see the mods that owners have to do in attempts to get them to handle. I guess being a motorcyclist makes me unsuitable for the Spyder. Shame 'cos they're a horny looking machine.
