Re: Suzuki 600cc turbo concept
I remember the 80's with the turbo bikes. A friend of mines farther has a Honda CX500 turbo in mint condition as always garaged and covered.

Re: Suzuki 600cc turbo concept
Yeah...gotta say the CX turbo was one of the most hopeless bikes ever. Felt flat as a pancake at low to mid range, then hellishly fast in a straight line once the turbo wound up, then being faced with the daunting prospect of getting it around the next corner! The CX was everyone's flexible friend NOT! And just not suitable for a turbo. Don't ask how I know!!
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

But the normal version without a turbo was a brilliant and much loved tourer/courier steed.

Interestingly this is exactly how testers describe the Honda VFR 800 V-TEC to ride! The learning curve is obviously very long!Data wrote:Yeah...gotta say the CX turbo was one of the most hopeless bikes ever. Great Suzuki have found another way of marketing the GS500e then.

Re: Suzuki 600cc turbo concept
Yes gn, the standard version was quite a nice bike, even with some slightly dodgy handling. It wasn't actually fast enough to get into trouble on bends. But it completely changed it's character once that turbo was fitted. I worked on many of them with the turbo and disintegrating pistons were not too uncommon.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

If only they made them like that now
Always hankered after a custom one in grey which is really weird because I hate customs and grey colour schemes.
