The current Honda NC700 Integra can be had for £6698 BRAND NEW!
Plus optional luggage! The Integra was relatively good value. The 700X also looks good value to start with, but then you have to add on £700 for the DCT, plus more for a better screen, a centrestand, and probably for the Wind deflector accessories that Honda do, and it all suddenly costs almost as much as a TMax.

Well - a chain is bad news, but you can buy a Scottoiler or similar, which avoids a lot of the hassle. So, if it had chain drive but storage, it would be worth considering. OR, if it had shaft or belt drive, but no storage, still might be worth considering, as you can fit hard luggage (at a cost). BUT chain drive and no storage? they must be taking the piss.

I concur with your summary Mr Grumpy. Plus you can't slide into it (oo er) like a normal scoot. I don't think Honda thought it through. It's about time manufacturers talked to us Muppets before they let the designers and engineers loose on a project!

I read this amazing interview with one of Honda's designers of the Integra - when asked why it had chain drive, he said 'because it was cheap' and asked why it had no storage, he said that it was 'hard to do'. The views of potential users / buyers were not considered at all .

Three cylinders lying flat flying brick style, permanent (life of machine) steel belt CVT across the back to a shaft final drive.
Front frame sub assembly bolted to front of engine/gearbox.
Single shock mounted directly on the combo shaft housing/swingarm and rear monocoque subframe doubling as fuel tank/battery storage mounted directly to the engine/gearbox, leaves a big space in the centre where the tunnel would normally be for luggage compartment.
Add seat and bodywork as required.
There you go Honda, build that.
