I think that's about right. If you go a bit easier with fewer short journeys, you will see 200 miles plus out of a tank and about 75mpg, which is pretty good for the performance on offer - I got that on her, touring in the Pyrennees...

I've had mine for about a year and average 78mpg though I'm a fairly relaxed rider. But that does include some fast cruising.

Someone criticised the electric seat release. I think it's a grand idea, works well and obviates a key. There's also a secondary manual release under the front panel.

For the money, the Bev must be one of the best mid capacity scooters at 330cc you can get in my view. The range of standard features is outstanding such as running lights, ABS, Traction control (which can be turned off), good underseat space, 12v socket and as has been mentioned, great performance and handling plus good economy. Other little things are pleasing too like an underseat light, a folding bag hook in the front panel, an electronic readout which can scroll between odo, two trip meters, battery voltage and ambient temp. The odo and trips can be switched between miles and km. It's also lighter than a lot of the competition.

An excellent package all round for a mid price/capacity machine that in my experience has been wholly reliable and compares very favourably on price and other respects with the likes of an XMax 400 or even the similarly engined X10.

Well, not really. Normally you want to open the seat when you first approach the scoot, so you need the key to unlock the steering before the release button will work (or alternatively push the key to release the glove box and see the manual release). There are a few occasions when you will have unlocked the steering so you can press the button to release the seat, but most of the time its 2 actions.

I do like having a bag hook again though! Maybe I could use it avoid opening the seat to put bags under there...

Indeed Mr G, if the steering is locked you do have to unlock it before being able to open the seat. But it's entirely logical you'll agree that when the steering is locked, the seat is locked too. Even if other bike seats can be opened without unlocking the steering, the two actions on the Bev are a point so minor that it's hardly any sort of criticism at all really. I find it really handy to be able to open the seat just by pushing a button on the dash, when the steering is unlocked. In my case that's quite often because I keep it in the garage unlocked.

Be careful storing small items that don't like heat in the front compartment. The radiator is there and it gets quite warm which a bar of chocolate for example won't react kindly to. The underseat compartment doesn't exactly stay ice cool either.

I have a remote control fob to open and lift the seat on my Satelis. It is so convenient I cannot believe that no one has copied it yet.

Daelim went one better, they have a keyless system.

I think the one I test rode also had an attached waterproof seat cover stored in a built in compartment under the seat. A good idea I thought.

my 07 plate x8 has remote seat and boot opening and a built in waterproof cover ......... never mind the japs will catch up one day

Oh well, perhaps then in the winter I should ride with the front compartment door open and let the heat escape and keep me warm!!!!
