Re: Bad day
Last year I went to clean a washer jet on the Scenic. Couple of minutes, I thought. And then I dropped it down into the engine bay. Took me 2 hours to get the little bugger. Had to take a wheel off and all the underbody aerodynamic plastic cack they stick on cars nowadays. Only got a couple of cuts and scratches.
I should have just gone and bought another (£3?) but I was determined not to be beaten.

Re: Bad day
God - when I saw the title Bad Day, I thought this was going to be some accident or something! So having difficulty with a spark plug isn't THAT disastrous!
I remember reading that on some old Lagonda or Bugatti car, to change the spark plugs the first thing you had to do was to take the rear wheels off - so that you could dismantle the rear axle, to be able to remove the prop shaft and gearbox, so that you could then remove the engine.......

Re: Bad day
I looked in the book and it seems a simple job on the Majesty. I can't even contemplate how to replace a burnt out headlight bulb though, the manual says take it to a dealer. God almighty what were they thinking of at the design stage if you can't change a fucking bulb!

Re: Bad day
So they propose that you wait for roadside assistance if your bulb blows when you're out at night? And then wait again until the dealer opens the following morning? Oh, and then they probably won't have the specific bulb in stock (cos all they keep handy are bits for "real bikes"). Not very satisfactory. I thought only French carmakers were comedians like this.smeghead wrote:I looked in the book and it seems a simple job on the Majesty. Re: Bad day
Oddly enough I have a new car which needs the grille removing followed by the actual head light unit to change the bulb! Lots of cars need dismantling now to change headlight bulbs. I thought that it would be simple to design a unit where the bulbs slot in via the top of the unit rather than the back, seems simple to me!!
