One of the aims of the trip is to have a pasty at Lands end and haggis in John o groats I know you can get pastys at Lands end as theres a pasty shop and have been in this cafe before but cant remember if they do Haggis or not and menu not online




It maybe an idea to try pies at each overnight stop make it more of a cultural event

Not usually, however there's all sorts gets fried in batter up here.
My local town is noted for a few things, among them being the birthplace of R.W. Thomson (inventor of the pneumatic tyre) and the deep fried Mars bar.

They started doing battered mars bars at one chippy down here not sure if it caught on never tried one .

I've never tried one either, sounds fecking disgusting.

There was a cooking program few years back Scottish guy opened restaurant in Windsor and he had it on menu Raymond Blanc said same but after he tried it he liked it .I would say oil has very clean to be separate from chip fryer and maybe different batter mix for it to work properly .I must say couple of chippys been to in Scotland have been very good and cook to order so you have to wait but very good .Went into Castle Douglas on way to Dumfries looking for fuel on last scooter trip and caught a wiff of chips and stopped and had some on a Sunday as well as most close around here Sundays. Fish and chips were really good

I was on the way to the Dukes Pass music in helmet with Dukes house in rear view mirrors when bag pipes kicked in on that track just seemed right at the time .

Dukes pass from Aberfoyle to Callander is a great favourite of mine, used to live near there just down the road from Glengoyne distillery.
Was great fun early on a Sunday morning on my Ducati Pantah, up the Dukes, round to Crianlarich then down the old Loch Lomond road back in the days before the major "improvements" robbed it of its character.
