Perhaps I was measuring the diameter of the cup whereas the Ram fitting quotes the circumference of the ball!

Bought all the necessary stuff from the RAM people and it works a treat, very pleased though not cheap all the bits cost Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£56.
