Re: Sat Nav idea's please
I have a car TomTom Go750 Live and use this setup.
I started off with this handlebar mount for my Intruder M1500 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GPS-SATNAV-CA ... 4cf67142bd" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I now use one of these. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330769229018? ... 1423.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The waterproof case is generic with a rear mount mechanism for different clamps etc.
I bought the suction mount only to fit the case for just £11 plus p+p direct from Ridermount.
The suction cup has yet to become unstuck on both my B400 and B650 screens, but if your screen has too severe a curve then it might not work.
There are lots of 'Cheap' but effective widescreen sat nav units out there now and will fit this type of case.
I power directly using the supplied TomTom usb pc data cable via the 12v power socket and a 2000ma usb adapter, due to the power drain the standard 1000ma versions do not charge correctly and cut off, the price difference is minimal. I have to use the 90° cable due to the poor Burgman socket location.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the kind offer Bluebottle but a mate has a mount that may fit my phone and may suck onto my screen if it's flat enoughBluebottle wrote:That reminds me, I've got one of these you can have, or HG have just reduced them from £15 to 9.99

Re: Sat Nav idea's please
Thank you Bluebottle for the info on that site. I've just ordered the perfect mount....Bluebottle wrote:But if its any help, this way you can play scrabble at 70 mph:
I use this waterproof enclosure and mount and plug in my helmet speakers/mic or earbuds.
I'm using Garmin on an i-phone 4s but they do cases for all kinds of phones and sat navs as well as mounts for bars, mirror stems etc - same ball fitting as a RAM mount but a lot cheaper. They do waterproof, fused flying leads as kits so you can sort out your power if you don't want to get into soldering.
The case and mounts are from http://www.ultimate-mobiles.co.uk/
and I wrote about it here
Touch screens don't work with my motorcycle gloves so I picked up a cheap stylus or too to nick the ends off them.

Ok think I have it sussed now if I get this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DC-12V-to-5V- ... 5d4245d1dd" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; it will sit in the glove box beside the battery. A mate has a screen mount I can try to see if it is flat enough for a sucker mount. Hoping to try it tomorrow pm.
Big thanks for the replies it's good to get ideas and help

Thanks.
This is probably why the garmin I just fitted, isn't charging. I checked mine and it's 1000ma.
I'll look on Ebay and upgrade!

Re: Sat Nav idea's please
I have had a Tom Tom Rider 2 for years and am very pleased with it. Ram Mounts do a very nice mount for it that goes on top of the brake fluid reservoir, works a treat.

Re: Sat Nav idea's please
Don't want to knock the RAM Mounts, they are definately good gear but Ultimate add-ons do the same resevoir mount cheaper. Both use the same ball size too so everything is interchangeable.
The materials may/may not be up to RAM quality, I don't know, but I haven't found any difference so far
