Stalling issue BMW C600 Sport

My problem is that having spent £10450 on a scoot I worry about its ability to do what it was designed for ie get me to work rain or shine .I use it day in day out .My T Max was utterly reliable ( have had 5 of them ) I will delay judgement until it is serviced , but at 400 miles I don't need the hassle . Am i being unreasonable ?

Tmaxrobbo you're not being unreasonable. You paid good money - not only for its 'premium brand' good looks - but also for BMWs 'perceived' reputation - reliability.
Sure there are going to be some teething problems, especially with everyday use. If most buyers DO actually use them as everyday commuters then their reputation and profits will 'take a hit' because of the cost of warranty repairs. But BMW will look after you - they can afford to!

They should bring you a replacement ride, take yours away and only bring it back when it has been fully sorted.
Nothing less would be good enough given what you have paid.

I've just had the opposite effect from a tank full of Shell. I usually fill up on the way to work at a local supermarket because it's close to me and open 24/7 I expect my Majesty to be 'lumpy' it is a single thumper after all! But it was running a bit rough at low revs, sounded like to would stall when ticking over, that sort of thing. I filled an almost empty tank with Shell, the standard stuff not the expensive stuff and it has transformed the bike. It is significantly smoother, far less juddery on and off the throttle, ticks over like a dream and is altogether more pleasant to ride. I get a similar result when I fill my diesel car up with Shell also.

It is going for its first service soon , so will get a full look over . Teething troubles are I guess inevitable with a new model , I did not realise so few had been sold , certainly I have not seen another . The great thing with BMW is that they DO listen and don't leave you high and dry .My fork seal failure was fixed in 24 hours , down to a badly fitted seal in Germany . I sold my GSA and T Max to fund the C600 , so need it to be reliable . I will let you know how it goes , I am confident any problems will be dealt with . I have had BMW's for 12 years and T Max's since they were launched . My feeling was I was buying a T Max built by BMW , as it more or less is that , but with ABS heated grips and seat and all the toys . It is a great Scoot , I just don't want to think about it , if you get my drift !! Cheers

I've seen a few around in central London. Not may, but more than I've seen X10s. Even spotted a couple of new Majesty's too.

Can't help but feel sorry for you.
You would expect that by spending nearly ten grand on a scooter assembled in Germany you would get a premium quality product free from defects.

Sadly having owned a K100RS, R1100/1150 GS and a F800 that has not been my experience with BMWs. I really hope the C600 isn't following suit as thats a stunning looking scoot. I'd hate to think these are going to have the IACV problems that has plagued the F models.
