I got waved over to a checkpoint on Old Kent Road earlier this week. The copper said the checkpoint was for "validating against stolen scooters". Of course they were also pulling over cars, sports bikes etc, so that was obviously a line...
We exchanged a few pleasantries while he checked my licence, job done and off.
I didnt think i gave off a vibe of a scrote-kiddie scooter-nicker: ATGATT in two grand worth of gortex textiles and lid, riding a very unsexy 125, but hey. Who's to question?!

Re: "A lecture from the rozzers..."
I got pulled when an unmarked car pulled out of a side road into a bus lane where it is legitimate to ride in. Flashed light and gave him an earful of the Stebl. He then put on his blues and stopped me and started wading into me and when he had finished his rant I politely asked him for his badge number so I could report him for his poor driving skills, he did his best to find something wrong with my Bandit and when he couldn't asked me to blow into the breathalyser, "Afer you" I said "You're the one who was driving like a pisshead. He then threatened to arrest me for the refusal and in turn I suggested we went round the corner to his station (It's not a public police station but one where fire arms teams, special, vehicles etc are kept and where I did my Bikesafe from) and sort this out with his Inspector, he obviously didn't think this was a good idea so apologised for inconveniencing me and went on his way. The car full of senior officers may have had something do with it,
I reported him anyway
