I really fancy the idea of a ride through London. Any thoughts as to how we would mange the group if more people feel the same?
If we had local members who would act as guides, maybe splitting into smaller groups meeting up at specified points would work?
The date for this thing is not so far off so if any body fancys taking a bunch of wide eyed provincials round their Manor, (as I believe you soft southerners refer to it), let me know and I will see who else can be persuaded to make the trip.

We use bike to bike radio on our tours so that may help .Last time Richie took us thro I must admit it took a bit of keeping together with lights changing was about 7 then but we managed OK be great to get a group together.Londoners take it for granted but it is a treat for us to ride thro the capital seeing the sights.I loved riding down the mall towards the palace really enjoyed it .

Blimey, the sights of London, Pie & Mash, Shepperds Bush, Greenwich, Ace cafe all in the same day? Why not take in the Woolwich ferry, Brighton seafront and Lands End too!
Seriously, unless you are just looking to fly past those places I think you ought to rethink your day trip. If you look at the link I posted earlier, I don't think theres anywhere apart from the Ace that you will be able to get near on a Friday - you certainly wont be able to stop where we did and take photos, if that's what you want. We do have a bit of traffic in our Capital City during the week you know! I'm also assuming you've got satnav or detailed knowledge of getting around the City? The bloke I went with was an ex AA patrol and the City was his patch. Even so, it took us best part of a Sunday morning to visit those places. That's why we did it early on a Sunday morning - no tourists, traffic or traffic cops! Thames barrier, Cutty Sark and Greenwich are not much to look at to be honest and I don't think you will get near them on a bike. If you do still want to go there though, allow yourself 1-2 hours to get there and back from the City. Can't you plan it to do this day out on a Saturday or Sunday?
