No. The Americans cover whole cars in the stuff. On the Harley forum there's a few on there who cover the front forks of their bikes in plasti-dip. There is a website which show all sorts of applications. It will go on virtually anything from wood, to any metal and plastic surface.

It should be able to take the heat from a exhaust shield I would have thought. I think it can take upto 100 degrees. I know some people have sprayed the derby cover on Harley engines.

That stuff looks awesome! May have to investigate that myself for a few jobs that I have coming up. Good post and thanks.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

Re: Just Plasti-Dip My Xevo
2 days of driving and no issues with the heat shield,
Bad thing I already scrape the side mirror, the dip held up fine,
As I had a can under the seat gave it a little spray over it and job done, you can't even see it now...

Did you prime the panels / rub them down prior to applying, or was it straight on with each coat ?
I've used Plasticare dye which is holding up quite well, but I like the idea of being able to take off the panels and spray them over with something hard wearing.

No, Plasti-Dip requires no preparation other than making sure the surface is clean of grease. Plasti-Dip can be used to spray anything wood, metal, chrome
Here's a metal chrome tail light from my Harley. Plasti- Dip was sprayed straight onto the chrome - no scuffing of the suface or anything of the nature. It will protect the chrome underneath and if I wanted to return it to chrome again all I would have to do is create an edge and the Plasti Dip will come off in one go - easy.

tempted to get clear to protect my pearlescent blue flip paint job rather than vinyl wrapping it... wonder if it will nullify the effect in sunlight nor not...
