I only meant pedestrians attempting to cross the road looked, at least 4 times a week I get them just stepping out having not looked in my direction... sure I could have just got lucky those two days and had more aware pedestrians, but it also helped with filtering through traffic. Cars moved over where they are normally oblivious sometimes even moving across in my way having a look to see what the hold up is. The added noise worked... so yes I am in the market potentially for something that legally adds to peoples awareness of my presence without annoying them through noise.

I don't tend to like noisy pipes on scooters but a removable db killer sounds practical.

Take it off in the city and get noticed more for both safety and "coolness".
Put it on and go for a long trip without regretting having ears.

In Sweden there are no db restrictions though. No prob with the law. Too few bikes, too short season I suppose.

Gotta say, I always go for the quiet bike. I love the Burgman because it is quiet. Quiet does not mean you won't or can't be noticed. If you are riding correctly, you don't need noise to make yourself noticed to pedestrians or other cars. Headlights do it well as does the dayglo jacket and these inform the people that need to know, not just everyone within a quarter mile radius as with noisey pipes! The rest is up to you to take care of with your road positioning and reading the road and the various situations you encounter. I've been riding 43 years and never had an accident in spite of riding 25,000 miles per year for a 10 year period, that's aside from a puncture which broadsided me on a big bike when I was younger. Whether you have an accident or not in any given year is down to 99.9% skill, and 0.1% luck! Electric bikes, if they ever catch on will need to make some small amount of noise I guess as it really might be dangerous in some situations if in close quarters to pedestrians, at slow speed, if no one can hear you coming. Thats what I thing anyway...

Again I am not talking about excessive noise, just loud enough to get attention of people near enough to be in danger or be a danger, the TMax without the baffle sounded just slightly louder than the Nexus standard exahust. I'd like to get a decimeter to see how loud it is to know the legality of it.

I had a Mivv city gp on my tmax and it sounded very nice and deep without baffle out. A few guys would also agree on here. (I miss the noise)

I think I want more of my tmax. I am considering an Akra pipe. The whole system. A lot of money to throw away though. Akra pipe, variator, labour. Maybe I should just get a second bike, like a used KTM Prestige with Akra pipes.

This is so difficult. At least summer season is over and that gives me a winter to save money and decide.

There is also the Malossi 550cc kit you can spend your money on!!! Probably cheaper to buy a BMW C600.........
