I get your point, but there's a different set of standards for someone driving a high gross weight vehicle versus a rider on two wheels. When scooter riders make a mistake, they are most likely to hurt themselves. When a lorry driver makes a mistake, the effect can be devastating to others.

Yep, fully aware of that, I have held a PSV/PCV licence for nearly thirty years.
This was simple human error, no-one was hurt and that's all that counts.

The thing is, did he or she stop?

He could go anywhere, there were pedestrians still on the crossing.

Yep, but not stopping/looking with adequate room for a crossing is pretty poor.

It was no harm done, part on my part, part he was going slow, but it was more than a bit surprising is all.
