Well if people are happy with a CVT made in Thailand, why not India?

Hmmm, I would say Thailands engineering expertise is about five times that of Indias.... there are just too many poor components from India for me to take them seriously yet. I know they make some Suzuki cars there, but the quality is pretty poor.

For me, the Indians make a great curry and it looks a fascinating country to visit but like France, they do not yet realise the world wants quality products

The difference? New registrations by year and total registered.
The figures on that site come straight from DVLA, do you know of a better source, if so they would be pleased to hear from you.

Have to disagree, poor sales of Vespa PX scooters and the veracity of the data website used by me is entirely relevant to the thread.

Maybe because almost no-one buys manual gearchange scooters and that includes LMLs.
Also it's far easier to bolt in an existing engine & CVT unit than start from scratch building a manual gearbox job.
Which is exactly what Lambretta have done.
