I ride a X-max 300 and 3 old Brit bikes, the biggest thing I notice is the scooter turns into corners faster it takes
me by surprise when I swap, the other thing is that the old brits with their bigger wheels handle potholes better,
but for a long distance I take the scooter.

I'd be interested on your opinion of the SH125. Is it ok out of town or too small?

The SH125 will hold an indicated 65 mph or so on the flat, depending on your weight (I'm about 70 Kg), and the wind direction. Motorways are Ok, if you're happy to just sit behind a lorry. A roads are generally fine and more enjoyable, especially away from the conurbations. The SH125 is designed to run at near full throttle anyway. Overtakes should be planned, and need good visability.
However, if you can afford it, the SH300 is a lot better for distance work/overtaking/hilly areas/pillion work. It will all depend on your riding style, priorities, type of roads, etc, etc.

MY SH Mode came with a Malossi clutch etc and fairly flies between 20mph and 60mph before running out of steam. I use it mainly on country roads where it excels but I also take it on A roads and dual carriageways. Just watch out for long uphill climbs into a headwind though. Pity that last years discount seems to have disappeared.

I have had motorbikes for some 50 years now, but bought my first scooter (Aprilia Leonardo 250) back in 2006, as it seemed a good idea to use a scooter to do my shopping on (with the underseat storage and topbox). It was. I have only had a few since, a Yamaha Vity 125 and a Piagio X-Evo 400 that was the best commuter bike in the winter I ever had.

I am now living in Spain, and scooters are everywhere. I think I see 20 scooters to every motorbike when I am out. Everyone has someone in their family that rides one. You can park them literally anywhere.

I currently have an X-Max 250 that is having overheating issues, so on the look out to getting a replacement, but a 350cc would be better. Ridden the Honda ADV 350 and tye Zontes 368 so far, having test rides on a fre more before I bite the bullet.

Still have my bikes, ranging from 40bhp to 200bhp, but cannot do without a scooter in my life now
Two wheels good, four wheels not so.
