Mottzas Pie and Mash ride - Bank Holiday Monday

Post by mottza »

Haven't done this for a few years, but discussed with Essex Muppets and we've set a date for the Pie N Mash ride.

Date: Bank Holiday Monday 25th August.
When: 10am
Where: McDonald's Car Park at A12 J28 Services, Colchester, Essex.

Attendees
Mottza
Pete07Bikes
BikerBaker
Data
Roadrunner (maybe)
Mark
Spannerman

We'll have a chinwag for a while before we set off on a winding route of just over an hour to Walton on the Naze to grab some pie and Mash. (other eateries available). Have a mooch down to the pier for an ice cream and maybe a ride elsewhere depending on where everyone needs to get home to and when.

Definitely recommended!

Always a great day out, though we did lose Funky for half the ride on one occasion!

I can't make this one. Other stuff booked I'm afraid.

Thanks Ged. We have two attendees from the c90 club, just conforming the essex muppets attendance.

Any other takers?

Aw that’s a pity we’re down in Kent with family for the weekend. I enjoyed my only pie and mash run some years ago. Hopefully you’ll get a good turnout and enjoy the double pie n mash

Going to leave Cobham services (A2) at 08.15am, so should be at the meeting point well before 10.00, if no bank holiday problems.

Assume you're coming with Pete. What are you bringing, I know he's taking his Adv350.

I may have put my name down for this ride if I'd seen the details earlier. I came back a few days ago from a Eurocamp break in Holland where the internet was poor.
I go for pie and mash once or twice a week and am spoiled for choice, I have my local Manze’s in Great Dunmow, another in Braintree, Robins in Chelmsford, Basildon, and Southend. Even Colchester had Peckham Pie & Mash for a while, it's moved to a pub somewhere now. Further afield TJ"s Traditional Pie & Mash in Ipswich is another good one too.

Then heading over Witham way there's Pollys, Maldon has Youngs and Wallys, and there's a one I've yet to visit in Maylandsea. I'll give iit a miss until they finishi the roadworks that annoyingly divert traffic from the direct route to Maldon all over the place.

I've been to Whites Pie & Mash once and it was OK, it's just a drag getting to Walton, the only times I'm over that way are for the occasional Colchester United game or for the Stena Line ferry from,Harwich.
