Thinking of a bike change myself this year.
I have had a few tmax, my last one a 2015 530 ( I think it was the first belt drive model whichever mk that was, which was great and totally reliable but when it came time to change decided to go with a Honda Integra (due to a few people with of reliability problems on the Tmax they seemed to be electric/starting issues).
The Integra has been totally reliable and I DO like the DCT. Not sure whether to update to a new Forza or bite the bullet and buy a Tmax. Just concerned there seem to be quite a few nearly new with low miles for sale that have been privately owned. The Tmax has a lot of "bells and whistles" which sometimes isn't a good idea reliability wise. My nearest Honda or Yamaha dealer are over 50 miles away so the last thing I want is to have to take it back more than the necessary servicing.
Any thoughts from those running 2022 models onwards, any issues ?

Not many issues with 23/ 22 plate T Max's . The Keyless sometimes doesn't work and you have to be patient , turn the key on and off and sometimes the starter button turns the bike on . The onboard Sat nav does not work well better off with a Tom tom which I have or a phone holder . otherwise pretty good . They are an evolution each time a new bike is released . I like the heated grips and seat
The cruise is handy . Not much not to like . Finish is good though paint on the centre stand is very thin and wars off despite ACF 50 . I have full olins on mine akropovic , full billet kit and gilles levers . It has mallossi variator which I do not like and am putting it back to original Yamaha variator . Locking Centre stand is a good idea but you need a good lock as theives love them . Love mine

So I've traded in my 350 ADV for a new Tmax which I pick up this Saturday. :D I'm getting it Datatagged, and the Datatool tracker installed, and the insurance is the same cost, although I have to keep it in a locked shed, rather than just off road for insurance purposes.

I decided to forgo the pleasure of the on-board GPS and will use my own Garmin one. Also getting the battery charger connection, as I already have a Ctek charger to keep the battery gremlins happy.

Trying to decide which lever protectors to get. Had an embarrassing toppling on the ADV in a dark underground car park where I thought the side stand was down, but wasn't, and the plastic handguards protected the lever, and think that it's sensible to have something similar, any views on what works / looks good? The Yamaha ones certainly look nice, but if there was something for half the price ......

I tried fitting Powerbronze ("for 2022 Tmax 560") handguards on my 2022 Tmax and found them totally unsuitable. Yamaha themselves don't seem to offer handguards for this model and I can now see why as they will foul the windscreen when the bars are on full lock. After trying several modifications I threw them away.

There were optional wind deflectors on the 2017 mk6, which do a moderate job - no idea whether they'd fit on the mk 7 or 8. But in any case you still need muffs or overgloves or something in the winter.

So even though the weather was the full on "summer 2024" version, I picked up my new bike last weekend. Hopefully have a few dry miles on it this year!
