Another option is the little stick on blind spot mirrors. If most of what you can see are you elbows, then you might as well put something useful in that space! I find them very effective, despite their small size and cheapness. If adjusted correctly I tend to look in them rather than the main mirror.
Going off on an irrelevant tangent, on the mk6 Tmax I find that I can see fine out of the right mirror, but the left is at least half elbow. I wonder why the effect isn't symmetrical? If only the stalks were longer, then the mirrors would be higher and clear of your elbows.

Yes I’ll probably go for that option as I’m not sure about the stability of the ones Waldorf suggested. They just look as though they could easily be dislodged.MrGrumpy wrote: Wed Oct 26, 2022 12:15 pm Another option is the little stick on blind spot mirrors. I’ve now swapped the stock screen for the Givi D1187ST. £86 delivered and replacing it took 15 minutes. I’ve bought a RAM ball mount for the brake fluid reservoir cap, allows me to use my existing adjustable arm and iPhone mount.
Just need to get out and ride a bit more. Now, where’s my helmet….

I've actually bought a pair of the ones like Waldorf suggested. I'll see how long they last! They are principally designed to go on car mirrors, so - theoretically - they ought to be designed with wind blast in mind.Stibbs wrote: Sat Oct 29, 2022 6:33 pm

btw there seem to be two types, one using velcro, and one using some sort of screwed clamp mechanism.

Mine were definitely stick-on which is why I suggested care when positioning them; the glue on the 'sticky-fixers' is bionic!

Should have stuck to the stick on overtaker mirrors.....Waldorf wrote: Tue Oct 25, 2022 9:11 pm Sounds good!
I stuck extra mirrors above the stock ones; they make all the difference.
I honestly can't remember exactly which ones but these look very similar.
If you get them be careful not to line them up exactly with the edge of the stock mirror housing but have them a little further forward. Otherwise they will be too upright and you won't be able to get enough adjustment.
Not a good explanation, I fear, but fiddle with positioning them before you stick them on and you'll see what I mean.

Re: Non Burgman owner
Ended up buying some adjustable blind spot mirrors from Amazon for £3.20. They work quite well fitting onto the mirror glass. I’ve also sussed that my riding position is normally “elbows out” a bit. So I’ve got into the habit of tucking my elbows in when looking in mirrors and it does seem to make a difference. Funny that!
I’ve done another hundred miles or so the last few days and coming to love this bike. Lightweight, flickable, plenty of grunt, leg room is great for me (short inside leg, may not suit taller riders?), frugal and fun.
One downside, compared ro my old burger, is the stupid positioning of the indicator switch and horn. Times I’ve gone to cancel indicator and bloody horn sounds. Argh. First world problems eh?
