I knew it was a Burgman 400 and the model prefix was AN400, but she said she had two listings and seemed to think they were different bikes somehow. So it's a 400Z and/or a K12.
Hopefully I will find out tomorrow. I just hope the weathers going to improve a bit or at least that the rain will hold off. There and back in a day might be a bit punishing the way I am feeling at the moment! Well at least the ride back should be a bit more comfy with the Burgmans' nice big seat ,legshields and heated grips!

Well the ride started off bright and sunny but ended up very windy. Luckily the rain held off. Riding the CBF up there was a painful experience with the knee, hips etc all painful, but I enjoyed most of the ride. Eventually arrived at a ghost-town like J&S and Liam the sales manager taxed the bike and made the transaction easy, a very nice chap.
The ride home on the Burgman was like riding an armchair compared to the CBF, but the wind made it a bit of a battle. Nice motor though, as others have said, lovely and smooth as you get over 60 and averaged 70-80 (speedo) all the way back. Putting it on Fuelly showed I'd averaged high sixties mpg for the trip home, with the wind head on for most of the time.
I think the speedo reads a bit optimistic being about 5-7 mph above actual road speed. The standard screen was waving about a bit in that wind, but it was nice to have the hand shields and heated grips! Bikes all newly serviced etc, now all I need to do now is polish! Oh, model is AN400ZA!

Yes, you are completely right about the model designation. I found some old paperwork relating to my 2012 Burgman and it said exactly the same. Mine was identical to yours, even the same colour. Glad you found it comfortable, most folks do. Let us know what you think when you've had it out on the road a few times. I'm guessing you'll love it!

I'm guessing you will love it even more if you fit a Givi Airflow screen.

I've been out on it today for a quick run. I need to get used to the auto behaviour again. That slight lag before it kicks in. I've been tightening the mirrors and putting washers under the hand guard fittings to get them tight, otherwise everything looks good. No rust on the frame at all, oil still crystal clear, so pistons/bores must be good. My Caberg flip up lid fits very easily under the seat, so I'm a happy chappy. I have to agree about the screen though. After a number of different screens on my TMax I eventually got the adjustable Givi screen. I think it'll be the same on the Burgman, which I've named Gnu, because of it's personalised plate G2GNU!

Only been on an older model, that was nice itself, but the newer ones seem even better by the sound of it.

I was just comparing the ride up there to collect on the CBF and the ride back on the Burgman. It made me wonder why most of my "bikes" have been bikes and not scooters. Maxi scooters are just so much more convenient and comfortable for daily use that motorbikes seem almost illogical by comparison!

You’re right about the speed on the speedo. My experience, having owned three, is that it’s around 10% over 60. So 77 on speedo is about an accurate 70 according to gps. Enjoy the ride

It's always good go have your suspicions confirmed, so I was cruising at 64-72. Good enough! I suppose it's a good indication of how good they are by the number of people who've owned them multiple times. The thing is they perform quite well, are economical with lots of storage and seem to have been designed with the DIY'er in mind. Also you tube is full of information on servicing and repairs. The Mic bergsma vids detail almost everything that needs servicing or repairing in great detail, a real treasure trove of online help.

I was reading through some old posts on here the other day and came across some by Gn or Gn2 and was wondering if this was his old scooter, with that plate? I don't know if he's a member or not these days. If I remember correctly (I think it was about 5 years ago) he was banned from the forum. I think he was from Scotland.
It seems too much of a coincidence with that plate? Oh, before I forget.. Can anyone tell me how accurate the "running mpg" figure displayed on the LCD screen is? Mine seems to sit at 16.1 to 16.4 mpg most of the time.
