It's linguistic evolution; are there any new mopeds with pedals on sale in the UK?

I sometimes call my NIU a scooter but there's the likelihood that people will think it's a thing with tiny wheels that one stands on and propels with one foot. At other times I call it a moped although it has no pedals and reaches speeds greater than 30 MPH.

Language changes; is the name 'fridge' short for 'Frigidaire' or 'refrigerator'?

I get out my Vax vacuum-cleaner to hoover the carpet.

I hereby christen my new NIU a 'min-e-scooter' :)

'Scooter' is a word with far too many meanings - not only in the motorised version covering everything from ancient 50cc pedal assisted Mopeds to Burgman 650s, but Mobility scooters for the elderly, the old push along things I had as a kid, and now the electric versions that Kids in Essex terrorise pedestrians with - and possibly other things as well that I've forgotten!
What a hopeless language English is!

Or possibly - not a ‘Bicycle’ as recognised by DVLA but a CYCLICAL? / E-CYCLICAL for electric ?
