Ride quality/handling XMax/Forza 300s

Post by Greyerbeard »

Has anyone had the opportunity to ride one each of the new Forza 300 and the XMax 300; and if so how did the suspension quality compare?
I'm beginning to wonder if I made the right choice after another spine-jarring country-road ride on the XMax yesterday afternoon...it's all very well having an excellent engine, if you daren't go above 50 in case you bounce across the road into the path of oncoming traffic...Fun it isn't!

Yes to tyre pressures; have tried various suspension settings! Tbh, the front end isn't much better once the speed goes up...
It's a comparison with the Forza 300 that I'm after really - couldn't lay hands on a demo of either before I bought so relied on road tests - I should know better by now... :(

Try the rear shocks at one notch softer than the middle setting. That improved my Xmax 300 very noticeably. Been two up on it also and rides fine over average bumps. Big pot holes are bad on any bike or scooter.

Mine will be in the shop next Friday if you want to pop across to North Wales in a couple of weeks time.

EDIT: Just had an E-Mail from ColwynBay Motorcycles.
My scoot has arrived early, but it was not meant to be here until next Friday so not booked into workshop for another week :(
But i can go and have a sit on it.. and get the insurance sorted.

Greyerbeard, what tyres are on the Xmax 300.

If Maxxis there will be softer versions that will help.

If already say Michelins or older Diablos, maybe not a lot to try there.

Out in the sticks with my Sym Joride 200 ( 171 cc ) was simply beyond unpleasant description at the back, and all up mine, if you will.

My own thoughts, but I think more or less any Scooter if you don`t already have a City Grip or older type Diablo on on the back tyre at least if they do one for the scoot, be worth considering getting one bunged on a soon as possible.

Best Mark.

They do.

The ride of the Xmax improves with miles mines now at near 7000 miles,
I have only rode about 5 or 6 other scoots and non have been a Forza
but the Xmax 300 is the best so far.
New ones come with City Grips by the way.

looking forward to your views Lyn.

125cc only in 21st Moto today & I didn't ask about the 300 as I've just spent a fortune on the crosstourer (have to say the crossrunners headlamp very transformer sexy)

but I'm still not a keyless fob fan (despite it being all the rage)

Same here, i much prefer to have a key to stick in a hole, you get two of those as well.. Only one with the X-ADV i am told, ( not by the dealer )
the Forza has two fobs.. Going to look and sit in the morning.. Ow! and i think may as well pay while with them.
