According to this, new versions of the J125 & 300 are coming next year. Not sure if there are any differences, or just new colours...

Re: Updated Kawasaki Scoots
It's undoubtedly due to changes in the Kymco range. The Downtown 300, upon which the J300 is based, was dropped for 2018 in favour of the new X-town 300.
Ergo the 2019 J300 will be based on the X-town.
I hope that the upgrades include a new seat!

In the UK, the Downtown was dropped. Elsewhere it was upgraded to a 350cc. https://www.kymco.fr/fr/scooters/maxi-s ... -exclusivecapitano wrote: Tue Sep 04, 2018 4:47 pm It's undoubtedly due to changes in the Kymco range. These Kawasaki "updates" reinforce what I have believed from the day Kawasaki UK announced there would be no ABS models imported - a complete lack of interest in the machines and their customers. And I mean from both Kawasaki HQ and their UK arm.

Re: Updated Kawasaki Scoots
Yes, its very odd. But why bother upgrading the J125/300 if you aren't interested in the sector? There was rumoured to be a J500 or similar in the works but that never appeared.StephenC wrote: Wed Sep 05, 2018 10:17 am

Re: Updated Kawasaki Scoots
Why not update them properly with a swinging arm and as well as more room.
Be a nice addition and big seller in the EU with suspension that actually works.
Best Mark.

Re: Updated Kawasaki Scoots
Maybe that would be an improvement but I'd much rather Kawasaki/Kymco gave some advice about what they already know about rear suspension to Yamaha first. The Xmax is much worse than the J300!XP500FUN wrote: Wed Sep 05, 2018 2:01 pm Why not update them properly with a swinging arm and as well as more room.

Still waiting for the J500 (J550?)

Re: Updated Kawasaki Scoots
Its nuts that Yamaha haven`t done a T max light machine. Mono-Max 300 or 400 etc.
It would sell like hot cakes, low seat and wide low tunnel for older cronkies too plus an enclosed rear chain drive like the older T max with a 6 or 7 adjustable monoshock in a proper type swinging arm, they would fly out.
You would think someone would ride the X max round the block and over a few usual streets and get back saying OK Crikey !!! or something very similar !!!

I'm sure they've made some calculations on whether such a bike would pay. Maybe the numbers will come good one day.XP500FUN wrote: Wed Sep 05, 2018 2:43 pm Its nuts that Yamaha haven`t done a T max light machine. Mono-Max 300 or 400 etc.

Re the Xmax - yes, but it was designed in Japan and made in Italy so perhaps it worked fine in those places
