Re: tmax 250
Aren't the AN Burgmans frame mounted motors, while the UH ones are swingarm mounted motors?MrGrumpy wrote: Thu Aug 16, 2018 9:21 pm Why are bigger Burgmans 400 & 650 AN despite being different scoots, but the smaller ones UH?

AFAIK the 400 has a swing arm mounted engine. The original 250 was AN as well, which causes confusion with the UH 200!

Re: tmax 250
Why would they do this, since they only introduced the XMax300 (or 'CZD300J') 18 months ago??

Re: tmax 250
I stand corrected. I have always thought that the 400 Burgman had a frame mounted engine... until now.MrGrumpy wrote: Fri Aug 17, 2018 3:10 pmAFAIK the 400 has a swing arm mounted engine. The original 250 was AN as well, which causes confusion with the UH 200!

Re: tmax 250
My TMax was much the same - a constant battle. And the Forza 125's alloy parts were permanently stained after just one salty ride.Meldrew wrote: Sat Aug 18, 2018 10:21 am Ah... the XMax 300, I looked at one on a 17 plate with only 2k miles on outside a dealers showroom yesterday and I was surprised how much the finish had corroded after just one winter. Paint was flaking off the exhaust and the metal connections on the rear brake line was rusty. Whether the corrosion was adown to the previous owners neglect, or simply Yamaha's poor finish I've no idea.
And a Suzuki I had years ago rusted its exhausts through in a year; and a new BMW F800 spent more time at the dealers for recalls and repairs than being ridden; and so it goes on.
Doesn't alter the way they go though...

Re: tmax 250
Don't get me started on Tmax Centrestands and the way they rust! On the mk6 I drowned mine in ACF50 and there's still a bit where the ACF50 has obviously got blasted off and its gone rusty.Greyerbeard wrote: Sun Aug 19, 2018 8:38 amMy TMax was much the same - a constant battle.Meldrew wrote: Sat Aug 18, 2018 10:21 am Ah... the XMax 300, I looked at one on a 17 plate with only 2k miles on outside a dealers showroom yesterday and I was surprised how much the finish had corroded after just one winter.
