sorry been so long getting round to this but have been extremely busy (ask Terryvanman).
now completed 1700 kms and have had 2 services which were really just oil and filter changes. no obvious problems encountered mechanically but overall would have a few suggestions for improvement.
firstly the small glovebox (only 1 unfortunately) doesn't lock, so useless to drop odds and ends in to save pockets when you have to remove when leaving bike. would have been so easy to have it lockable.
secondly it can be quite annoying when you quickly want access to underseat but have to switch off engine to do so.
minor points i know but infuriating to encounter on a daily basis.
would i buy another one - probably not this 300 model as i don't find it as quick as my previous vespa gts 300 supersport. yes i know its a lot heavier so think i would go for bigger engined version.
has anyone changed their exhaust yet ? if so what did you go for, as may consider it once out of warranty.

One advantage of the Tmax smart key - you can open the seat with engine on, though you could do that with the Bev as well, as it had a separate seat release button (when it worked).mick wrote: secondly it can be quite annoying when you quickly want access to underseat but have to switch off engine to do so.

Re: XTown 300 update
I guess it depends on the glovebox geometry but wouldn't it be easy to fit your own lock? Eg., drill a hole through the lid, insert an aftermarket lock so the rotating thingamybob rotates behind a bit of bodywork inside the glovebox and bob's your uncle?
