Though in this weather, up in the NE, the huge amounts of snow mean a PTW is an impossibility, the roads are gridlocked due to dreadful road conditions, the buses aren't running at all, and neither are half the trains!

I'm glad you're ok. But a shame about the scooter. As you say it could have been much worse. I never found that putting my feet out/down helped any, always riding with them up on ice and snow.
The flakes are getting bigger here and it's coming down harder. The roads are still ok so far but I've decided to remain indoors today, one of the perks of retirement. :|

Yes that’s a lot of cosmetic damage for a light off - my other half had to put out an appeal on social media this morning as she had to abandon her car at her place of work in dumbarton - fortunately someone with a Nissan Navoro took her home - it has been snowing consistently here in the vale of leven for over 24 hours - all public transport is cancelled and all of the local private hire companies are not operating - anyway fortunately you didn’t sustain any major injury - you’ll have to save a lot of pennies to effect a proper repair

I'm intrigued that the wind is doing funny things with the snow - part of my driveway has no snow at all, whilst the back garden has something like 18" in places!

As others have said, glad you're ok. Now I have the car I'm leaving my two wheels at home!

Glad you are OK
Stretch those achey muscles, they can tighten up and ache quite a bit more the next day.
M66 and several roads closed around here today - indoors or 4 wheels only for me today.

Good to hear your ok, the bike you can fix.
The weather up here is lethal and from what I hear even worse in some parts of the country.
Take care out there people.

Oh yes, forgot to mention. I also have a Maxsym, and in the same colour. Which made me cringe even more at the damage! I imagined mine in that state, which is even more of an incentive not to ride in the conditions we have at the moment. As if one is needed!

Thanks for all your kind comments.
Unfortunately I didn't have a choice of transport as my wife was on a course in Surrey all this week so needed the car and public transport for me to get into work would have been a nightmare especially as a lot was cancelled due to the weather (It would have been time to go home by the time I got there) lol. It's a 52 mile commute for me as I work in Bodelwyddan N. Wales. So its country lanes for 8 miles (this is were the danger lies) then A534 to Broxton roundabout, A41 to Sainsbury's Chester then A55 the rest of the way. The best is I got further the day before but I turned round as the lanes were slippy so had decided on a different route on the day I came off which meant I got to a main road in less mileage (A49) but came off 50 yards before that road.
