Re: Looking at tents
I can't see the point to be honest. Anyone that worried about their bike getting rained on isn't likely to be out riding / camping anyway.
The big porch might me more useful for drinking / eating / falling over duties though.

Re: Looking at tents
My "tent" is a LWB Movano camper-type van that carries me and my bike along the boring motorway to where I wanna be in the country.
I sleep in the van and cook breakfast before riding off for the day on my bike to enjoy the local scenery. In the evening, I park the bike in the van, watch telly or whatever, cook a meal, and drift off to sleep while planning the next day's itinerary.
Rain is not welcomed, but not so much of a problem.
