North Derbyshire Peak District Ride

No date as I gave not decided yet whether this would be of interest. On Saturday I (foolishly) made a remark about a ride around the sites of the Peak district and someone said "I take it you will volunteer to lead the ride and this note is the result.

Just ridden 95 miles taking in the wonderful roads and views that are available for me to enjoy at anytime, but this time I looked at the scenery from a strangers point of view, and whilst I know that Gods own County has to be Yorkshire (where I was born) Derbyshire on the day that the sun shines can show views nearly as good.

The Starting point would be Morrisions at Chatsworth Road and would take in The towns of Hathersage, Castleton, Buxton, Tideswell, and such Places as Monsal Head, The Devils Arse, Millers Dale, Derwent Reservoirs, the Dambusters Memorial and even I suppose Chatsworth, Bakewell and Matlock Bath. before returning to the start point,

I would not want to clash with any one else s plans, so no date (not even a tentative one) has been fixed. One proviso however, I will only lead a group if the weather is dry. I am now of an age to know better than to start a 100 +mile ride out in the wet and horrid conditions that all too frequently invade this county and spoil the views, the backdrop and of course the pleasure of Derbyshire.

Hi Ian, good call and will come if at all possible but my social calendar is pretty full for the summer. Hope I can make it. Will try to organise one myseĺf for early september for yorkshire

Having seen the interest already the dates I am provisionally looking at are the 11th or 12th July. Any body got an issue with those dates?
