Yeah I saw that. I did think about posting it, but as far as I could see there weren't any facts at all to back up their speculations, so I decided not to bother!

btw the other thing they have on there is rumours/speculation/whatever that Honda are bringing a new SWing 125 out, which might be nice as there were many fans of the old one. Still think an SWing 300 would be a nice idea though!

Seems to me that as sales of the 530 have held up well across the key target markets against the 'threat' of the other maxis (new Burger SigFiddy; Beemer in both flavours; the 600 Silverwing we wont ever get, the Honda Integra et al) that actually other than phasing out the non-ABS versions (and interestingly the ABS models are now listed on Yamaha and their dealers sites in the UK) the only change they really need to make is to:
1: Lose weight
2: Make it somewhere cheap, like Thailand.

As the article notes, it's actually the wrong year for a Tmax update in 2015 - FAR more likely they'll revamp for 2016 when the new mandatory ABS legislation hits as does Euro 4 emission requirements.
No door is closed to an open mind.
Except a closed door, which a mind can't open, but even a stupid hand can.

The other point to consider with a Tmax upgrade is licence rules - the current version makes just under the power limit for the A2 licence (or whatever it is), so Yamaha may wish to consider carefully whether going above this would either attract sales from more experienced riders or lose sales to those without a full licence

But its not just here, I doubt TMax sales from the UK will affect their choices... take Taiwan for instance, you can't ride below 600cc on the freeways there, I am sure other countries that may have higher sale volumes may also have restrictions that affect Yamaha's decisions..

Yes, but EU licence rules are similar, and I guess whatever works in the Italian market will be the most important!
