Re: Is it time to give up?
I have an mp3 400 which I have barely ridden since getting the gp800. It feels so slow by comparison and the riding position is cramped. I spent 3k on a 4000 mile model. The weakness is the dealer network so the same goes for the aprilia sv850. I will probably keep it as an occasional toy but agree the tmax is a saner choice.

Re: Is it time to give up?
Slower than a TMAX and wont rip your arm or your wallet off is the Kawasaki J300 which I have just bought and I am loving it - a bit of a wolf in sheeps clothing like my old SH300.
I have had all sorts of scooters and 1000cc + motorbikes in the past and agree with DATA in that I enjoy whatever I ride ... even that Honda C90 that I rode flat out a few years back brought a smile to my face and that Gilera Runner 180sp that I commuted to London on.
Last year I had a Yamaha 800cc Fazer as a loaner for a week while my Tmax was in for a service and, well, it had a throttle which just had to be used and as DATA said overtakes no longer need to be planned, you almost had to imagine yourself ahead and suddenly you were - I knew that if I didn't give that Fazer back I would lose my licence !!!
Even though I still love powerful bikes I had to get something lighter than my TMAX and am jolly glad I did BUT I agree with everyone else get a TMAX they are quality and fun !

Re: Is it time to give up?
I might get thrown off forum but I have never liked scooters but I want a twist and go. I detest the small wheeled vespas etc so I have always wanted something that rode and looked like a traditional motorcycle. The thing I struggle with now on the mp3 is that you sit on it like a traditional scooter rather than "in it". The tmax is too pricey for my requirements now. I will keep the mp3 as an all year round short hop commuter and the gp can be my toy.

I seriously looked at the ncx but it lacks weather protection. The integra could be pretty but fails. I love the dn01 but it lacks practicality. The gp800 was not a completely random buy because it exists in a very small niche of powerful twist and gos with an element of practicality. If only it had honda reliability!

Re: Is it time to give up?
The diagnosis is a problem with the injectors but as of last week I was waiting for these to come into stock. Hopefully this will cure the cutting out problem.

Re: Is it time to give up?
I have checked the list and must say you are the first to have dodgy injectors . Very unusual to have both go at the same time .Was the cutting out when say pulling up to a junction or random anyware any speed ? . On gp and mana dirty throttle body and or exhaust gasket manifold end caused a too lean mixture which could causes a stalling issue . This was on early models .In my experience the TPS can cause issues if not set correctly to the extent it can cause cutting out ,i have had this on many injected motorcycles .Let us know how it all pans out .

Re: Is it time to give up?
Initially the bike was cutting out randomly and occasionally when setting off it was showing symptoms when setting off which was like accelerating with the handbrake on before the bike would kick into life. Before it went in for the epic six weeks in garage it was cutting out every time I hit the brakes which made for an interesting journey to work. The exhaust manifold gaskets were done at great expense and they did not cure problem. To be balanced the bike has not been a litany of problems just one big incurable one!
