Knock the old one out, gently tap the new one in, easy peasy.

Couldn't get the shaft out of the casing and dont have the tools or anything like it as shown in the manual. Never heard back from Scootech anyway so it looks like i might have to get a bit creative. WIll try my local bike shop though as they do scoots now and the mechanic they have rides a SH300 too.
i always think local is better, as you can prepare the scoot and save on labour costs, if you have a van :D
I cant seem to remember.. I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way.

Going into Scootech next week once i've got the parts in. £120 for the labour, i'm happy with that. :)

Have you not thought about simply applying heat? I remove many a blind bearing that way. I can't tell from the pics if it would be suitable but for the cost of a cheap heat gun may be worth it.

Are you saying the shaft won't come out of the bearing? I always lay the part on the bench, supported by pieces of wood, bearing facing down and evenly warm up the crankcase until the bearing falls out.I can't even remember the last time I had to use an internal bearing puller. That way if the bearing comes out with the shaft it will be a doddle to have it pressed off.Just a thought.

Hi Hughie. I normally bake cases at 200 degrees for 15 minutes! ;D But this is the drive shaft going through the main engine casing from the clutch assembly so I cant get it in the oven. The shaft didnt want to just pop out even with some gentle impact engineering, so tbh I just quit at that point as the manual showed using a tool I idnt have in the picture below. Plus I was out of time to mess about any more.

A little late - but if stuck these are always handy...

Took my 250 down there and they helped (didi for me after i took the wheel out) with inserting the (supplied by me from eBay) Timeserts for my front wheel disk...
Charged an Hour Bench Time, and i gave the bloke £20 for doing it...

It was all done by lunchtime and they even text me to say it was ready. :) Price quoted was the price paid too. That's freed me up nicely for the weekend where I can do something for someone else. :? :D

Thanks mate. Good thing about Scootech is they are 6 stops on the central line from my work. :)
