Other classic one is to try and ride off or rev the engine with a lock/chain still attached.

Done both of those on old my Honda

Tried riding off from the front of the supermarket with the disc lock on and smashed up the front mud guard, luckily I was wearing my helmet otherwise the glow from my red face might have been visible for miles!

Locked my keys under the seat too, my bro had to go and get my spare set, only a 30 minute ride each way...

I hadn't ridden the scooter for a week or two and it was only 5 months old with 300 miles on clock......I went to start it...nothing,, dead as a Do Do..then I realised that the kickstand was down,,,so lifted it up and hit the start button and it just turned over without starting,,,,so I thought that the battery was a bit dead so I hooked up the jump leads and had another go...as hard as I pushed the button still nothing,,,,thats when my mate appeared and suggested I changed the kill switch to run...that way it might just start....... the truth is, I never ever use the kill switch.....I've got a funny feeling about this, my mate seemed to know the problem from about 10 feet away and he was approaching from the front without the advantage of seeing the position of the kill switch...oh and he dont ride a PTW

I locked my keys under the seat on my Nexus 500 four times... luckily with that I always kept a screw driver in my jacket, undo one screw, unclip a panel, yank on the seat release cable, job done

For this reason I never kept anything of value under the seat

I'll own up to that one! Luckily it was a stupidly cheap disc-lock that went BANG, and no other damage.

Key goes from pocket to ignition.
Key never goes anywhere else.
Pocket or ignition, these are the places where the key goes.

Well I had a happy ending to my take of woe.

I thought I would just check before I went for the tube, that I hadn't simply dropped the keys. When I looked I realised that the tricky latch mechanism might actually help. You see, the seat is secured by two latches and if you park on the side stand as I had, then it's a little bit of a faff to lock them both. And indeed I hadn't.

I managed to squeeze my hand in under the seat and could feel my gloves and the top of the crash helmet. Was I lucky that the keys were sitting on top of the gloves!

funnyist one we came across was a little old man said he was 83 at the top of a hill wandering about looking at the floor the hill had a gravel road going to the top

siad he had dropped his keys

so ten of us searched in long grass for about an hour

turns out they were in his pocket

mind you none could keep up with him on the way down he was sliding his c90 about on the gravel supermoto style at about 40mph were all tottered down at about ten

I was filling up my Scoot at a busy Tesco petrol station. After queuing up to pay I then discovered my wallet was still at home. Naively believing that swmbo was 10 minutes away she took almost an hour to drop my wallet over... I'll admit I was 'embarrased' by then. To compound it further there was no cash in it, so when I finally put my card in, I suffered (for the first time ever) a mental block and got the pin wrong twice. I then had to phone her again but it kept going straight to the answering machine... All for a whopping £9 something!
