MrGrumpy wrote:Now that IS clever. I guess I could do the same on the Bev as it has a separate seat release button. Every other scoot has required the engine turning off - I'm always setting off then thinking did I remember to put bags and other stuff under the seat, so I have to stop, turn off and then check.
The SYM Joyride and GTS300 both have a simple yellow button on the hand controls. You press - it opens. QED.
Surprised how Kymco managed to make this simple operation confusing?!

And Peugeot do it even simpler. Since 2007 they have had a remote control fob which opens AND lifts the seat.

I'm surprised no one has copied that.

Exactly. Just ignore the icons. A twist to the left always opens the seat, unless the engine is running in which case you push it down first.
StephenC - many thanks for that, I've been switching to ign pos every time to disengage it with a "push" ccw. Like you said a non-push-down full left turn opens the seat in any other position. Brilliant and thanks again. FORUMs - so valuable.

Happy to help.

Now, does anyone know how to calm down a 5yr old whose birthday is tomorrow? She's doing my head in!

Paper aeroplanes - my daughter loved them about that age. I made them - we both "coloUred them in. Then we flew them together, had races and distance competitions etc.

Coffee is good too - and chocolate. She'll be a whirling dervish for half an hour and then... silence...

Further report on the J300 from Visordown...

76.5mpg on a long trip and says its very comfortable on long journeys (despite not being feet forward). Though maybe as a bike journalist, he's used to horrific levels of comfort from sportsbikes and almost anything's an improvement!!!
