In these days of electronics, its mostly a software problem! And how much more would it cost to do a mph speedo? 50p?
Its notable that Piaggio can't be bothered to make a proper mph speedo yet somehow manage to have trip and odo meters in miles (and temperature in C or F) - merely a setting in the electronics.

That's where the Satelis made me laugh.

If you wanted the odo and trip to read miles, you HAD to have the temperature in fahrenheit. But they never sold it in the USA which is the only market that I know of that uses F instead of C with their miles.

I took my X8 250 speedo to bits and put small flourescent yellow markers at 30, 40 & 70 mph around the outer edge ... and painted the dial needles flourescent orange. I can now see the speedo properly even with sunglasses on. (I couldn't see the red mph markers with sunglasses on).
I am now waiting for it to stop raining long enough for me to fit UV LEDs into the pod to make everything glow in the dark. :)
