The Yanks are coming

Post by irev »

Interesting comparo test with Mana, NC700X and Beemer C600

I seem to remember predicting several years ago that the making of `auto` boxes would be the `merican market.

Here they come:

Being a "honda fan" id go for the nc, its a shame because the bmw is lovely,if it wasnt too expensive and dogged with problems , and a kymco engine , I would really consider one, but in just one year second hand prices have plumeted.( says him with a 700 integra). :?
Im not a gynecologist, but I dont mind taking a look.

Same old same old , scooters always made out to not handle very well ,yes if its lighter its more flickable ( less effort ) means less connected or involved in my book . I have ridden the bmw and must say it does the twisty bits very well indeed , and the mana motor with cvt is a hoot .I have also ridden the honda nc and you cant beat it for the money on a new machine however it was a very very bland ride which was why i never got one ,that said with the might of hondas r&D and all those clever people out there i do foresee some variations happening which could sway me in the future .

Nice article, good find. It must be borne in mind that in the US all these bikes will have a far more reasonable price than we have to pay, I liked the BMW from day one but not at that price. Also with the BMW am I right in saying the best part of it is the Kymco engine the problems being with the transmission etc. I am almost 60 and I drive an automatic car and bike but at the risk of upsetting folks apart from medical reason I don't think people should take their tests on automatic cars or bikes. Using gears gives you a better understanding of how your machine handles and what it can do and creates better road understanding. Over the years I have had at least two partners that could not drive before they met me but I made sure they learnt to drive and took their tests on manuals and I think they became better drivers for it. But then I am a bit of a control freak :P

No I phoned the dealer on Saturday, they are closed on Monday so they were going to get in touch with SYM yesterday, but no news. Its interesting if you Google the 600 there is nothing current on it anywhere in the world which makes me think nobody as them yet. So is it a delay in launch or was it always going to be later in the year I don't know. I would rather they delayed things rather than release a new model with problems. I may drop Steve at SYM a line

In a competition to find the best motorcycle, chosen by 3 bikers, is there any surprise a scooter came last?
These motorcycle/scooter comparisons are always biased.

My thoughts on their thoughts about the c600....
(given that I haven't ridden one, but have had a look at one)

"Bringing a knife to a gunfight"
But how about pitting Mo Farah against Usain Bolt ? Wouldn't the winner depend on what you asked them to do?

"It's clumsy... It's not supposed to be going as fast through corners... it's a scooter!"
If you want to see clumsy have a look down Matlock Bath, once we have a few warmer Sundays. The average weekend biker , looks like he's just taken his stabilisers off!

"I could put a screen and some bags on the Honda"
But maybe get the bags nicked if you didn't take them into the cafe with you.

In the scorecard near the bottom of the page, they give the c600 3.33% :? better storage than the other 2 ,, don't make me laugh. Oh alright then, I will

And to finish. "We all felt as Siahaan stated"..... "While the c600 is a fine scooter, it's still no motorcycle"
That about sums up the "shootout" and ends my rant!
