Re: i am in a quandary at the moment
Its difficult I am getting the 600 from Groombridge in Heathfield. They are about 25 miles from me in the middle of no where. In fact according to Google maps if I try to get there by public transport it will take about 2 hours 18 minutes. However the deal they offered was a cracker (they have said they will do there best to look after any member of this forum) and that if I wish to use them for servicing etc a loan scooter will be available. http://www.jwg.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Of course I'm utterly biased, but the only sensible answer is the Tmax. Its the scoot that does everything, and when did you hear of any owners saying they didn't love their TMaxs??? Go on - be good to yourself.

I'd struggle to not buy a Tmax if i had your dilemma. Dont forget they carry their weight in the centre and not on one side like a lot of scoots so are very well balanced and you may not worry about teh extra weight?

Re: i am in a quandary at the moment
I had a similar dilemma this time last year. Having owned my 40,000+ Nexus from new, I knew she wouldn't stand up to much more daily use and the time between problems was becoming shorter.
I wanted a new bike but didn't want to pay more than £7000. If I could have brought a new Nexus , I would have.
Paying below £7000 ruled out quite a few. I would have brought the X10 500 but it wasn't available here back then. So I ended up with the Integra. If you don't want the X10, then you will probably end up with a used Tmax.
I've kept the Nexus going, as I didn't want to let her go but the next time she throws a strop will be the last time. Whatever you decide, I hope you enjoy you're new scoot

Re: i am in a quandary at the moment
ruled out the XMax400 then
A2 M/C @ Gravesend have a demo...
I still wonder if I should of gone second hand T Max... but I had the XMax250 to PX and was offered reasonable money...
If stating from scratch I would seriously consider a second hand T Max - with the previous owner taking the hit...
There have been a few choice finds on here over the last year or so - but never seem to come about when looking - so if ya not in a rush, test ride the J300, and maybe wait a month or so, never know someone somewhere may be PXing a T Max to a dealer for something with a new plate... - might be able to negotiate a stronger deal a month or two after the initial sales of the new plates have gone out...
Whatever way ya go enjoy!
I would love to test ride a T Max, but then I fear I will be skint!

Be very careful to check your feet positions on the J300 BEFORE you buy it - if you are interested in it.
An otherwise excellent machine spoilt by a forgetful stylish or a product manager on crystal meth.
I didn't like the plastics on the 2014 Tmax either, so if looking for one perhaps an older version might be better.
Oh and have a sit on an X10-350 before you buy anything else

Re: i am in a quandary at the moment
thanks globs will do, i tend to ride my nexus behind my knee angle or put them back when solo, i put boot protection on the plastics where i touch with boots, when two up i always have me toes up to front on lower board , but have never used the higher foot position, so fingers crossed it should suit my style of riding, the tmax if still available to look at is a 2010.Globs wrote:Be very careful to check your feet positions on the J300 BEFORE you buy it - if you are interested in it.

i have a couple of weeks to decide and go sit on them before making a decision, including the x10
the tmax above has done 9000 miles and a standard 3 mth warranty i need to check the service history, as belt time in 3000 miles

no paul i did not rule out the 400.. i love the aggressive style, i think the pricing is slightly high, in my opinionXMax400Paul wrote:ruled out the XMax400 thenA2 M/C @ Gravesend have a demo...

or was there not the competition then, except the x10 t
there was a nearly new white 400 xmax on ebay a few weeks ago and it went for £3800 a steal really i thought.. demos tend to be £4500 and i will sit on one

If you want to be incrementally better: Be competitive. If you want to be exponentially better: Be cooperative.
