Anyone seen the Rieju City Line

Post by Le_Quack »

Hey, just stumbled across this and just wondered if anyone had seen one or knew if they were coming to the UK

http://www.rieju.es/city-line-125cc-i-e-4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

14 inch wheels 15HP with a yamaha engine 260 and 240 mm breaks looks like it might be a nice learner legal maxi.

Oops It's a piaggo engine not a yamaha (all their "motorbikes" run on yamahas) just downloaded the brochure they're also making 300cc version.

Looks very similar to my current scoot, the Aprilia SR Max, which in turn was the Gilera Nexus albeit with a few tweaks. This Rieju has smaller wheels though.

It's just a re-badged malaguti madison (which always looked good).

Looks no different to lots of other scoots out there.

Has there been a restyled Madison? The original was very striking in looks, and looked far better than this Rieju. Unless Rieju have been very clever and managed to turn a silk purse into a sow's ear.

*sigh* Ladies & gentlemen I give you in the red corner a malaguti madison & in the blue corner this new (supposedly) Rieju city line:

Amazing! How the hell have they managed to turn probably the best looking scoot out there into something that looks thoroughly ordinary, just by a few superficial changes????? Let alone why?
