I used the Clapham shop a few times. Staff were ok, prices seemed a bit high (i'd always go down the road to Infinity to compare), but i got a goretex jacket a few years back, and it's still going strong - very well made, like Rukka quality. Their newer stuff (like the jacket model after mine) seemed less good.
The Showrooming this is interesting, as you often do need to try motorcycle clothing to get a good fit, so maybe they just need to keep their markups lower to compete?

Re: Hein Gericke
Well, I take it all back. I went out for a ride today on my recently purchased FJR1300 in my recently purchased Scott textiles that I bought at the motorcycle show last week and found that when sitting on a bike (compared to a scooter) the bottoms rode up to near to the top of my short scooter boots. I decided longer ones were needed so I thought I'd go and have a look in HG, or JS or whatever it's called now. I found a well stocked shop with more branded stuff than before. I ended up buying a pair of Alpine Star boots @£170 and some Oxford trouser liners @£20. I knew I could have probably got them cheaper by shopping around online but they had them there and then and I am a bit impatient and I wanted to ride them home.Steve_D wrote:gn2 wrote:........
Most, if not all, of their clothing, gloves and boots were own brand though so no chance of showrooming for clothing with them. They had a sign on the counter at the Gants Hill branch saying something along the lines of don't ask for a discount or a price match which I think was a bit arrogant - no wonder I rarely saw more customers than staff each time I went there.
Paddle harder. I can hear banjo music!
