for me I use yellow glasses .reduces glare at night an also good in the rain...plus just go slower....take it easy..

slow down a bit and try not to look at oncoming cars with badly allined headlights as you will start to drift towards them

The trouble with night riding on lanes (not that I ever do any!) is that you can't see potholes, muck and other obstructions! Maybe you should take some trial trips in the light to learn the road, so you can work out what the best line to take is ie avoiding bits where puddles form, big potholes etc.
