Had this email from Piaggio, also been reading some mixed owner reviews on the 500 many on which say its not worth the extra over the 350 so I think the SYM is still on the top of my list.

Yes, there's definetely a gap in the market for another Nexus 500. - Obviously the Tmax is there, but not at a price mortals can afford.
But it would be under the Aprilia Badge

I think it's down to whether the extra power is going to be useful. I'd find the 500 X10 much better I'm sure than the 350 X10 in terms of power. The Burgman and Maxsym 400's both have notable extra clout over the 350 X10. The 500cc X10 will again be a biggish step up especially for faster motorway two up cruising. The 600i will not doubt be even further up the scale and very good. But my initial calculations show the 500 X10 will be much cheaper to run and I have a dealer on my doorstep, that's even if it's a bit more expensive to buy than the 600i. Haven't made my mind up and can't until both machines are here and test ridden. One thing, the newer 500 master engine is well tried and tested, and trusted. Hopefully the 600i is the same.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'! :lol:

Been riding for 55 years & owned too many bikes to list here...

The difference between the Piaggio x10 '500' and the Maxsym '600i' is 72cc. :|

Data I understand the 600 is using an engine based on the one thats been out for a while and used on their Quad so like the X10 tried and tested.

I did a few days in France with Frank in September. The X10 performed brilliantly over the whole trip. We did everything - twisties, urban and fast motorways. I was on my 650 Burgman and there didn't seem that much between the Scoots. The X10, in my opinion is Great looking machine and if I was looking it would be on my list of possible.

Raven and I had a ride out and he brought along his 400 Burgman. See; http://www.maxi-muppets.co.uk/forum/vie ... =9&t=14282" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The difference between the 300i (263cc) Sym and the 400 Burgman seemed slight but the difference between the 400 & 650 burgman was huge!
